About Mark Lisac:
Mark Lisac is president of MSL Publishing Ltd., an Alberta company based in Edmonton. MSL publishes Insight Into Government, a widely read, politically and financially independent, weekly newsletter on politics in Alberta.
Mark began reporting on political affairs in Saskatchewan in the mid -1970s for the Regina Leader-Post and has been writing about Alberta politics since 1979.
He was the main legislature correspondent for the Edmonton bureau of The Canadian Press from 1979 to 1987. He then moved to the Edmonton Journal and became the newspaper's provincial affairs columnist from 1987 to 2001.
He wrote The Klein Revolution, published by NeWest Press in 1995. It was the first book-length study of the upheaval in Alberta politics in the early 1990s.
In 2004 he wrote Alberta Politics Uncovered, also published by NeWest Press. This book earned him the Wilfred Eggleston Award for Non-Fiction, presented in 2005 by the Alberta Writers' Guild.
He contributed a chapter on Don Getty for the book Alberta Premiers of the Twentieth Century, published in 2004 by the Canadian Plains Research Center. He has also written magazine articles and numerous book reviews, and been a commentator on radio and television.
Mark became publisher of Insight Into Government in July 2005.
